The Little Kanawha Bus service, which has been well-established in Calhoun, Roane and Jackson counties as a reliable, low-cost means of transportation, is struggling to get established in Gilmer County.
"Little Kanawha Bus may lose the service in Gilmer County if ridership does not increase. If you would like to keep public transportation in Gilmer County, please help us increase ridership," said manager Darlene Crane.
The public transportation system that has expanded into Gilmer County is offering a one-time chance to ride free of charge.
There is no age limit or income guideline restrictions.
The service is offering free rides to any area that is listed during the service dates of May 5th, 7th and 9th only.
This means that you can ride free of charge from your home in the Linn, Troy, Coxs Mills and Tanner area into Glenville on Monday, May 5th.
From your home in The Stouts Mills, Sand Fork, Cedarville and Normantown area into Glenville Wednesday, May 7th.
From your home in any area of Gilmer County to Weston, Friday May 9th.
Just call 866-354-5522 and get on the schedule.
