Etta M. Ice Evans, 73, of Cedar Creek Road, Glenville WV, departed this life on Tuesday Morning, April 15, 2014 at the Genesis Health Care Center, Glenville, WV, with her daughter at her side, following an extended illness.
Born December 3, 1939 in Calhoun County, daughter of the late Dempsey and Sylvia Wilson Ice.
Etta was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. She enjoyed listening to country music, attending Senior Center events, travel ling, quilting and crocheting.
Surviving are 7 children, Lewis W. Krabiett of Pennsylvania, Cheyenne Evans of Pennsylvania, Debra Lynn Marks of Glenville, Betty Marie Coram of Parkersburg WV, Patricia Ann Surber of Beckley WV, Ella May Nay of Grafton WV, and Karen Sue Parsons of Fayetteville WV. Etta is also survived by 5 siblings, Wilma Jones, Dorothy Sharps, Vada Marks, Cheryl Perkins, and Dempsey Ice Jr.; a host of grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, and her husband Dennis Evans of Montgomery WV.
Along with her parents Etta was preceded in death by 4 children, infant Mary Ellen Steele, baby Dennis Blaine Evans, Mark Evans, and Stephanie Evans Huff; and 3 siblings, Dennis Ice, Howard Ice, and Otis Ice.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV,26351, at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 with Rev. Roger Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Hardway Cemetery at Nicut. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
