| Retha C. Pursley, 84, of Palestine WV, passed away at her home on Wednesday April 16, 2014 after an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 5, 1929, the daughter of the late David and Cordelia Snyder Phillips.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, being outside in her garden and cooking.
She is survived by her 3 children, Reda Dailey of Parkersburg WV, Wilma (Don) Bunner of Elizabeth WV, and Thelma McIntyre of Parkersburg WV; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Della McVey of Ripley WV; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband of 66 years Rex A. Pursley, who passed away Feb. 23, 2014; 3 children, Ronald Pursley, Emilee Ledsome and one infant son; two brothers, David Phillips and Ed Phillips; 5 sisters, Elva Parker, Mildred Westfall, Emma Ball, Eileen Hunt, and one infant sister.
Services will be 1:00 pm Saturday April 19, 2014 at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV with Pastor David Pursley officiating. Visitation will be Friday April 18, 2014 6-8 pm.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Leroy WV.
