Two separate accidents sent two separate vehicles off Route 16 near Orma, into or
about into the West Fork River yesterday. Neither accident caused injuries to the
drivers. Both wrecks happened after long awaited rainfall.
A car traveling north on Route 16 near the Orma post office lost control after traveling
around a sharp turn and nearly went into the river at 2:39 p.m. Calhoun EMS and the
Arnoldsburg VFD responded. Sheriff Allen Parsons investigated.
Another vehicle went out of control at 9:33 p.m. on the Brannon Straight on Route 16
south of Arnoldsburg, landing in the river. Sources said the man was standing on his
vehicle in the stream, which has very little water because of drought conditions.
Calhoun EMS and the Arnoldsburg VFD responded to the call.
