ATLANTA, GA â The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) has announced Calhoun Middle-High School student Jarrett Nicholas from Big Springs, WV, has been selected to become a member of the esteemed organization.
The Society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship, and community commitment. The announcement was made by NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, a senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes.
"On behalf of NSHSS, I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice, and commitment that Jarrett has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence," said Mr. Nobel.
"Jarrett is now a member of a unique community of scholars â a community that represents our very best hope for the future."

Jarrett is the 17 year old son of Dean and Jennifer Nicholas of Big Springs. He is currently a junior at CMHS. He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, FFA, the CMHS Red Devil Band, and is the treasurer of his class. Jarrett plans on attending WVU and majoring in Pre-Law. He has previously attended the Governors School for Math and Science, Hoby, and NYLF on law.
