CIRCUIT COURT HEARS BOND INCREASE ISSUE FOR MAN CHARGED IN DEATH OF MT. ZION WOMAN - Little Sentenced On Meth Lab Charges

(03/26/2014)
A motion in Calhoun Circuit Court Monday to revoke the bond of 18-year-old Luke Baker, charged with driving under the influence, causing death, was taken under advisement by Judge Thomas Evans III.

Calhoun prosecutor Shannon Johnson said the bond issue surfaced when it was discovered that the $30,000 bond posted in magistrate court for Baker was not sufficient to meet the statutory requirements related to the charges.

The insufficient bond issue is related to the lack of property collateral used for Baker's release.

"The Judge granted the motion, but stayed the revocation for 14 days so that Baker could post an appropriate bond," Johnson said.

Baker is accused of causing the death of Mt. Zion resident Tammy Cunningham, following a two-vehicle collusion on Rt. 16, just south of Grantsville.

Harley Little, 53, of Grantsville, was sentenced to one to five years in the state penitentiary for conspiracy to commit operation of a clandestine methamphetamine drug lab, a felony.

The sentence was suspended and Little was placed on home confinement with electronic monitoring.
