Grantsville firemen responded to a forest fire on Coon Fork off Barnes Run at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, with wind whipping across the hills the past two days making fire conditions high.
It was the third forest fire reported in the county this week.
Fireman tackled the fire on a steep hillside on the Coon Fork, spending about three hours bringing the fire under control.
The WV forester was reportedly assisting with a fire in Roane County that was burning acreage on Coxs Fork, with most of the Roane VFD's at the scene.
