 Landon Taylor, 7, of Newark WV wrestled his final match, Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at CAMC Charleston WV from injuries he sustained from a car accident on Monday, March 10, 2014.
He was born May 29, 2006, the son of Zachary Lee Taylor and Brittany (Burns) Taylor of Newark WV.
He was a 2nd grader at Wirt County Primary Center, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a LKC- C team All Star Football Player in 2013. He was in the top 3 of his weight class (50 lbs) 7-8 year old division in the State Youth Wrestling 2014.
He is survived by both his parents and his brother Lance Taylor; grandparents, Mitch and Roberta Taylor, and Jeff and Kristen Burns all of Newark; great grandparents, Janet and Richard Whited of Grantsville WV, Mary and Perry Daugherty of Elizabeth WV, Larry and Betty Walker of Belpre Ohio and Pat Walker of Florida; aunts and uncles, Cassidy (Matt) Steele of St. Mary's WV, and their children Maddie and Alex,
Danielle (Justin) Conley of Mineral Wells WV and their children Kolton, Brycon and Austin, Josh and (Stephanie) Burns of Elizabeth WV and their children Logan, Trenton and Madison; and several loving great aunts uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother Lucas Charles Taylor; grandparents Denzil Taylor, Harrison Bryant, Bill and Mary Burns.
Funeral service will be Tuesday March 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV with Rev. Ken Heiney officiating. Visitation will be Monday March 17, 2014, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Landon will be laid to rest at Taylor Cemetery in Calhoun County (Yellow Creek) next to his older brother Lucas.
