Ronzel L. Tanner, 75, of Creston, Ohio peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening Jan. 28, 2014 at his home following a period of declining health.
Ronzel was born May 10, 1938 in Nebo, W.Va. the son of the late Lon C. and Myrtle (Starcher) Tanner and married Betty L. Lyons on March 23, 1963 and she survives. He retired from Parker-Hannifin in Wadsworth in 1999 and was a great handyman for his family and friends.
Ronzel was a member of the Ernest Angley Grace Cathedral in Akron and the Farmers Sportsmans Club in Canaan. He had made his home in Creston for the past 50 years was an avid bowler and deer hunter.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Betty; special daughter Morgan Vance of Canton; special son, Travis (Stephanie) Hanshaw of Norton; Papa Ron's boy, Travis.
Brothers and sisters and their children, brother Darell (Mary) Tanner and Lora and Curtis, brother Nolan (Linda) Tanner and Connie, Harold "Billy" and Robert "Robbie" and brother, Bobby Tanner W.Va.; sister Louise (the late Charles) Heslep and Chuck, Larry and Leann, sister Maysel (Bradley) Salisbury and Teresa and David (Deceased) and sister Phyllis (the late Bud) Thorne and Kim, Jill, Lesha, Howard, Angela, Melissa, Erik and Erwin and sister the late Lula (Elden) Ashley and Rosemary, Diane and Wayne; ; Betty's sisters and their children, Liza Hanshaw and Travis and Howard, Janet (Joe) Bourne and Jerry, John and Jill, Rosalee (David) Metheney and Vin and Jack.
He was preceded in death by a brother Roscoe and his sister Lula.
Services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Chris Machamer officiating.
Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to services at the funeral home. |
