One additional candidate has filed for public office in Calhoun, the application received in the mail Monday following Saturday's deadline.
Connie Smith, a former deputy in he clerk's office and a former candidate for County Clerk, will be opposing current clerk Jean Simers.
Another mail-in filing was Randall Arnold, for Democrat Executive Committee.
County Clerk Jean Simers said it's possible other late filers could be in Tuesday's mail, postmarked by midnight Saturday.
Four have filed for three open positions for the Calhoun Board of Education.
Joining incumbent Steve Whited - Jackie Collins Frail, Wilbert Kerby and Jenna Jett for Board of Education.
Eddie Cain has filed for county commission, opposing incumbent Scottie "Chip" Westfall.
Burl Postalwait has filed for Democratic Executive Committee.
Incumbent House of Delegates member David Walker has filed for the seat, with a Republican candidate reportedly opposing him in the General Election.
A special election for the renewal of a levy to support Calhoun emergency services and criminal justice services is set for February 1, with no increase in taxation.
Early voting is in progress at the County Clerk's office for the levy.
On the primary ballot is an option to open Sunday hunting in Calhoun.
