Luretta L. Mason Booth, 91, of Parkersburg, died Jan. 20, 2014, at the Willows Center.
She was born Nov. 27, 1922, in Grantsville, W.Va., a daughter to the late Emma Busch Mason and her step-father, Jesse Mason.
She graduated from PHS in 1941, worked for Broida's, Stone & Thomas and Jay Jay Dress Shop at the Chancellor Hotel. She later became a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and collecting antiques. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, John C. Booth; one son, John C. (Linda) Booth, III of Davisville; two grandsons, Hunter C. Booth of Parkersburg and Sam (Kelly) Farrah of St. Louis, Ill. In addition to her mother and step-father, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene Appel, Lucille Siginthawal and Ruth McPherson; and grandson, Darin Booth.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, with Dr. William Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. |
