| Garrett Hobert Gainer, 83, of Grantsville WV, went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2014, joining his wife Ernestine.
Garrett was born in Calhoun County on September 4, 1930, the son of the late Victor and Alta Gainer. He served his country from 1953 to 1955 in Germany with the US Army. Garrett retired from General Motors in Parma Ohio after thirty years. He loved hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and harmonica. He loved telling his hunting stories around the dinner table.
He is survived by his daughter, Jeanetta Bruso; sons Michael Gainer, Randall Gainer, Jeff Gainer; daughter Karen Fliger; son Kenneth Gainer; four brothers and two sisters; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014, 2:00 pm at the Chapel Baptist Church at Nobe with Rev. Ronzel Ferguson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Nobe Cemetery. Stump Funeral Home of Grantsville is in charge of arrangements. |
