Sheridan Ray Ables age 71 of Dusk Camp Run Road, Sand Fork, West Virginia, departed this life on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, following an extended illness.
Born July 7, 1942 in Glenville, son of the late Walter L. and Vernia Katherine Peggs Ables.
Ray was a mechanic in the Automotive industry. He loved fishing, Running Squirrels with Bub, playing with his grandkids, taking them for rides on the riding lawn mower , and he was a Christian by faith.
Surviving are 5 daughters, Sharlet Wagoner of Glenville, Sheila Ables of Weston, Shay Massey of Glenville, and Carolyn and Eva Ables who live out of state, 5 sisters, Betty Harshbarger of Jackson, OH., Daisy Radcliff of Buckhannon, Frankie Sukriach of Wellington, OH., Margaret Cutright of Elyria, OH., Kathy Mathew of Sand Fork, 1 brother, Bernard P. Ables of LaGrange, OH.
Ray is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, long term companion, Virginia Black of Sand Fork, and Caregiver Emma Donaldson also of Sand Fork.
Along with his parents Ray was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Orville and Shay Ables.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV at 1:00 p.m. Saturday December, 21, 2013 with Rev. Clifford Reaser officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiney Cemetery, on Ellis Road. Friends may call from Noon-1:00 Saturday at the Mortuary.
