In small country towns, if the Avon lady doesn't know the gossip and make friendships, no one does.
2013 marks a decade that Debbie Murphy of Brooksville has sold Avon throughout the community, making friends wherever she goes.
Not only a business woman, she also raised two children as a devoted mother.
Her strength of always pushing through and becoming the very best has transferred from her personal life, to her professional life as well.
Avon is a distributor of beauty, household, and personal care products sold through representatives in over 140 countries across the world.
Debbie Murphy has made a name for herself through the company by being inducted in the Presidents Club for the 10th year straight.
By being inducted, personal sales must increase from a personal quota, and selling $10,000 worth of merchandise.
In Calhoun County that is very impressive for the population and economy being the way it is. However, This has never stopped her in the past and continues with laying out Avon catalogs, making flyers, and customizing her car.
"It keeps me busy, I am my own boss I work not only for myself but for the people. I have met a lot of nice heartfelt people that I can trust as a friend. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for them," said Murphy.
"I'm so proud of her, she enjoys what she does and it truly gives people something to look forward too. As her son I'm proud that my mother is an Avon lady. If she's happy, then I'm happy." says Debbie's son Quentin.
Her future goals is to serve the community of Calhoun County and just stay humble and continue to make friends in her lifetime.
