CALHOUN TRIO FACING METH CHARGES FOLLOWING ARREST ON COUNTRY LANE

(12/17/2013)
Calhoun authorities arrested three individuals Saturday night and charged them with drug violations related to meth making.

Richard Earl Conley, 55, of Country Lanes, Mt Zion, Michael Lee Duncan, 36, of Spencer and Krista Lea Farrell, 38, of Big Bend, have been charged with operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab, and a second charge, conspiracy to commit a felony.

Sr. Trooper J. A. Newman, in a criminal complaint, says he and NRP officer Charles Stephens were on patrol on Country Lanes when they observed a light in the woods behind a residence.

"The officers followed a driveway on foot and came upon a hunting cabin, where three individuals emerged," says the complaint.

The complaint says one or more of the individuals began shoving items to conceal them.

Trooper Newman said they then obtained permission to search the cabin from the owner.

The officers said they discovered a baggie of white substance which appeared to be meth, in addition to other items used in meth making, including a plastic bottle "containing liquid and solid substances."

They are in Central Regional Jail, with bond set at $75,000.00 each.
