The percentage of each West Virginia county's high school graduates that were awarded and received the PROMISE
Scholarship in 2011-12 shows a wide disparity. The highest number of recipients in Monongalia at 30% and the lowest number in Tucker County at 6.5%. In regional counties, the percentage of 2011-12 grads receiving PROMISE scholarships: Roane 13.2% Gilmer, Ritchie 12.9% Braxton 11.6% Clay 11.5% Calhoun 9.7% Wirt 8.8% The top WV counties, grads receiving PROMISE scholarships in 2011-12: Monongalia 30% Pendleton 27.3% Ohio, Marion 25.3% Taylor 22.8% The lowest WV counties, grads receiving PROMISE scholarships in 2011-12: Tucker 6.5% Doddridge 6.9% Lincoln 7.3% McDowell 8.0% Wirt 8.8%
