Calhoun County School Districts annual Anti Bullying Week was "kick started" early this month at Arnoldsburg Elementary School by students "stomping out bullying".
A quick glance down the halls of the school conjures up images of little Jeffy running amok in the familiar Family Circle cartoon.
The kids have been busy tracing, cutting and placing their "foot prints" on the floors and in the hallways marching toward their poster "Stomping out Bullying" which they will sign before they go to Thanksgiving break.
While at the Calhoun Middle/High school students are busy working on posters, classroom skits, power point presentations and much more in preparation for the upcoming week.
Dr. Gary Nelson has been invited back to speak during assemblies for both the middle and high school students on Wednesday the 20th. You, the community, are welcome to join us for either the morning or afternoon session to listen to Dr. Nelson's presentation which will focus on bullying and depression.
On Friday the 22nd, Nancy Creighton, Children's Outreach Liaison with Westbrook will be coming to give classroom presentations on bullying and cyber bullying.
Students are planning a friendship day on Tuesday the 19th where everyone wears yellow, the National Color for friendship. You, the community, are welcome to join us in wearing yellow in Tuesday also. We need your help and support in our attempts to bring together a school and a community together in the understanding of an issue that has taken over our country. Even if it is only wearing yellow on Tuesday, it shows we are working together on this.
Calhoun Students are eager and proud to continue our tradition toward stomping out bullying with our annual Anti Bullying week. A week that presents renewed awareness and dedication to caring for others. Join Our Stomp!
