Harold E. Nida, 86, of St. Cloud, Florida, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013, at St. Cloud Regional Hospital, following a short illness.
He was born in Walton, West Virginia and had been a resident of St. Cloud since 2010, moving from Spencer WV.
He lived most of his life in Elyria, Ohio. Harold served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked in sales for Firestone Tire in Akron Ohio for 25 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Christian Unity Church in North Eaton Ohio. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Deleen; daughters, Diane (Larry) Fox of Spencer WV, Sheila (Ed) Nau of Elyria, Marsha (Willie) Bias of Wellington OH, Julie Freeman of Akron; son, Rick (Denise) Nida of Elyria; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clifford Nida of Tampa, Florida, Ross Nida of Spencer, West Virginia; sisters, Eupha Huff of Spencer West Virginia, Pauline Higgenbottom of Parkersburg, West Virginia and Joyce Kiser of Walton, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Lora Nida; brother, Leslie Nida; sister, Crystal Nida and great-grandson, Evan Nau.
Friends may call Thursday, November 7, 2013, from 5 until 8 p.m., at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville and Friday, November 8, 2013, from 10:30 a.m., until the time of services at 11 a.m., at Christian Unity Church, 36353 W. Capel Rd., North Eaton. Burial will be in River Road Cemetery, LaGrange Township OH.
