WAYNE MURDER -
State Police say Ronnie Gunther, 56, shot and killed his neighbor William Jennings Ward, 55, following an argument near Tolsia High School Wednesday night.
After Gunther shot the man several times, he fled to his house where he was later taken into custody.
The murder happened in front of several witnesses, police saying alcohol was involved.
Gunther is charges with first degree murder.
MORGANTOWN STUDENT STABBING - Morgantown police say a 14-year-old student who allegedly stabbed a 17-year-old at Morgantown High School student, and has been charged with unlawful assault and possessing a weapon on school grounds.
Police say witnesses saw the older boy attack the younger boy in a hallway Wednesday morning.
The 14-year-old student then stabbed the other teen multiple times in the arms and chest. The older youth has been charged with battery.
Police are saying the stab wounds weren't life-threatening,
the victim's most serious injuries were to his arms.
PARKERSBURG WOMAN ARRESTED 'MURDER FOR HIRE' -
Parkersburg Police say Amy Yvonne Mayhugh, 40, was arrested, wrapping up an
all-day operation regarding an alleged murder for hire plot.
After receiving information from a cooperating individual,
detectives began an investigation that produced information
indicating Mayhew wanted to have her husband killed for the
purpose of collecting insurance money, a press release says.
Investigators were
able to recover evidence and record conversations between
the cooperating individual and Mayhugh allegedly supporting
those findings.
Mayhugh also provided the cooperating individual a Rolex
watch as partial payment for having her husband killed.
Mayhugh was processed at the Parkersburg Police Department
on a felony charge of solicitation to commit murder.
