Edna F. Nichols, 77, of Gandeeville, West Virginia died October 27, 2013 at her home after an extended illness.
She was born February 8, 1936 in Roane County, West Virginia a daughter of the late Harold and Alcie E. Rhodes Johns. She was a homemaker and a longtime active member of the Harmony Baptist Church. She was a very helpful person and enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, and camping.
Edna is survived by her husband, H. Gene Nichols; one daughter, Connie Nichols of Gandeeville; two sons, Jerry Nichols of Iron Station, North Carolina and Roger Nichols of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three sisters, Maxine Carpenter of Gandeeville, Joanna Nichols of Newburgh Heights, Ohio, and Barbara Rossmeier of Scottsboro, Alabama; one brother, Larry Johns, also of Scottsboro; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Eugene Nichols; and a brother, Woodrow Taylor.
Service 1:00pm Wednesday October 30, 2013 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, West Virginia with Rev. Daniel McClung officiating. Burial will be in the Rhodes Cemetery in Gandeeville. Visiting hours are from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
