Alice Virginia Shears, 94, of Elizabeth went home to be with the Lord on Thursday October 17th at her home.
The daughter of the late Roy and Charity Ash, Virginia was born on May 3, 1919. A loving mother and grandmother, her greatest joy was her family. She loved to quilt and spend time hiking in the woods, and cooking and visiting with her family.
Virginia is survived by sons: Gene (Delores) Shears; Donnie (Peggy) Shears, Gary (Yvonne) Shears and daughters Judy (Gary Robinson) and LuAnn (Jimmy) Roberts.
Grandchildren: Ronni (Johnny) Nemeth, Travis Shears, Tim (Margie) Shears, Jeff (Patrice) Shears, Stacey (Joe) Gribble, Alicia (Rocky) West, Courtney Robinson, Brian (Lisa) Shears, Amber (Brandon) Edwards, John (Shelly) Shears; 15 great grand children; and 2 great great grandchildren, and a sister Isabelle Goodwin.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Charles Barrett, son Darrell Shears, granddaughter Kelly Robinson, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
A special thank you to her in home care givers Charlene Johnston and Mary Ann Hodgens and the nurses with Hospice.
Services will be Saturday October 19, 2013 at 11:00am at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV with the Rev. Dean Ash and the Rev. Bob Watkins officiating.
Visitation will be Friday October 18, 2013 4-8 PM . Interment will be at Rockhold Cemetery Rt 53 Elizabeth WV. |
