| Ruby E. Smith, 92, of Orma WV, passed away October 2, 2013 at Ravenswood Care Center in Ravenswood WV.
She was born, August 7, 1921, in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Charles and Almeda Gae Houchin. Ruby was a loving mother and grandmother and a member of the Beech United Methodist Church. She was a former cook with the Calhoun Board of Education.
She is survived by a son, Daniel Smith and his wife Kathy; two sisters, Kathleen Sears and Jean Boggs as well three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her first husband Lawrence Smith and second husband Cecil Carpenter; four brothers, Harley, Chester, Garrett and Rex; one sister, Pearl Hall, a granddaughter, Jamie Ann Smith.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013, 1:00 pm, at the Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg with the Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until the time of the service.
