HUNTINGTON GUNFIRE - Six people were shot in Huntington Tuesday night about 9 p.m. in or near the Northcott Court housing complex along Hal Greer Boulevard.
Lt. John Williams says that shots were fired during an altercation among a group of people at the Northcott complex.
Police believe one person fired the shots, with the possibility of a second shooter not being ruled out.
He says all six victims were shot in the lower extremities, with none of the injuries life-threatening.
Dozens of police officers responded to the incident.
Police say they have recovered a weapon.
NICOTINE WITHDRAWAL? -
A Rand, Kanawha Co. man told police he was stabbed and beaten for refusing to share his cigarettes.
Roger Fore told police he was walking in Rand about 10:40 p.m. Saturday when another man rode up on a bicycle and asked Fore for a cigarette.
Police say when Fore refused, the man allegedly attacked Fore with a metal pipe.
Fore was taken to CAMC General Hospital, where he was treated for stab wounds and blunt force trauma.
Deputies are searching for the suspect.
