| Leo D. Sprouse, age 77, of Ellis Road, Linn, West Virginia, departed this life at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, West Virginia, following an extended illness.
Born June 22, 1936 in Gilmer County, WV; son of the late Wilbur and Mae Frashure Sprouse.
Leo enjoyed playing bingo, wood working, gardening, fishing in his younger years, he also enjoyed visiting friends and family. He retired as a maintenance man at the United Bank of Glenville and Louie Glass in Weston. He was a member of the Stonecoal Fishing Club, and the Glenville Moose Lodge.
Surviving are 7 children, Joyce Frashure and husband Larry of Glenville, WV; Teresa Ann Dumendic and husband John of Ashtabula, Ohio, Leon Sprouse and wife Carol of Jane Lew, WV; Connie Lea Perkins and husband Keith of Pocola, Oklahoma, Becky Ryan and husband Bobby of Weston, WV; Louvonne Blake and husband Terry of Weston, WV; and Michael Queen of Kimberly, Wisconsin.
There are 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren surviving.
Also surviving are 2 brothers, Willie Sprouse of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Jim Sprouse of Horner, West Virginia, and 1 sister, Sue Peters and husband Richard of Linn, WV.
Along with his parents Leo was preceded in death by his first wife, Liza Radcliff Sprouse, grandson William "Billy" Frashure, and 2 brothers, Harold and Sherwood Sprouse.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV, 26351, at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013, with Pastor Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Boilon Cemetery, Copley, WV. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Mortuary.
