Grantsville W.Va. - Minnie Hamilton Health System, Grantsville Operations renovations are moving along on schedule with the completion date in late Autumn.
We would like to thank the public for their patience as we have moved the Emergency department and are in the construction phase of the new, combined Rural Health Clinic.
With the renovations has come changes in the way we make appointments and handle walk-in patients:
Appointments: We encourage you to call to make an appointment for the clinic during regular hours at any time (24 hours/day). Our staff follow scheduling guidelines and you will be scheduled accordingly.
* Most non-urgent appointments (i.e. 3 month diabetic check) get scheduled out a few days/weeks, not the same day you call.
* "Same Day" (more urgent) appointments are available in the schedule also. Again, we encourage you to call.
* If you present as a "Walk-in", you will follow the triage process explained below and will be given the next available appointment with a provider who has an opening unless you present with emergent or more urgent condition that requires ED treatment. Occasionally the ED provider may see you as a clinic walk-in during regular hours also.
*After hours, walk-in's are seen as an Emergency Department patient, not clinic.
Walk-in process: A patient enters the hospital either by the main entrance into the lobby or through the ED doors. They are directed to the main desk and are asked to sign in on a clip board. The clerk then calls the ED and informs them they have a walk in.
The ED nurse tells the clerk to send them back to the triage room located by the main entrance of the ED. The triage nurse assigns the walk in patient an acuity ranging from emergent to non-urgent
(clinic).
If the patient is triaged as clinic, they are directed to one of the clinics to the next available provider.
After clinic hours: The clinic hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the week and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the weekends. If a patient presents after these times they will be determined to be an ED patient.
Follow up appointments: It is very important to keep your follow up appointment in order to evaluate the progress. It allows your provider to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan, if any changes need to be made and it allows the patient to voice any questions or concerns about the treatment plan.
If you have any further questions please call (304)354-9244.
