| Herbert A. "Jack" Murphy, 84, of Elizabeth, WV entered Heavens gates and received his angel wings on Sept. 15, 2013.
"Jack" was born on October 3, 1928 in Vienna WV. He was the eldest son of Lena Sams and Charles A. Murphy.
He was a 1947 graduate of Parkersburg High School and was an employee of American Cyamidid of St. Mary's for 15 years, and West Virginia Department of Highways for an additional 15 years.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Maxine (Ruth) Murphy; two sons, Francis E. (Becky) Murphy of Raleigh NC and Charles (Janet Brown) Murphy of Grantsville WV; one daughter, Rhonda (Tim) Farr of Parkersburg WV and 6 stepchildren.
A sister, Patsy Williamson of Vienna WV
He was "Papa Jack" to 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday September 20 from 4-7 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV.
