Freeman Edward Pauley, 85, of Spencer, West Virginia died September 11, 2013 at his home.
He was born September 10, 1928 in Lincoln County, West Virginia a son of the late Jess and Esta Smith Pauley.
He worked as a welltender for Quaker State among others and enjoyed feeding birds, wildlife and hunting. He was a Christian and a member of the McKowns Creek Chapel.
Freeman is survived by his wife of 63 years, Myrtle Geraldine Meadows Pauley; a son, Joseph Edward Pauley and his wife, Sheryl, of Spencer; three daughters, Myrtle Faye Pauley of Elkview, West Virginia, Norma Jean Rhodes of Statesville, North Carolina, and Jessie Mae Cottrell and her husband, Dale, of Ivydale, West Virginia; a sister, Trilby Williams of Alum Creek, West Virginia; a brother, Gilbert Pauley of Ridgeview, West Virginia; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Delbert Pauley.
Service 11:00am Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, with Pastor Wayne McGlothlin officiating. Burial will be in the Swank Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 6:00 to 8:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
