For the 16th consecutive year, West Virginia's biggest employer is WalMart.
Manufacturing and even high-tech jobs have left the Mountain State by the tens of thousands with the globalization of the economy.
In years past, the steel, coal, manufacturing and chemical industries were the largest employers.
WorkForce West Virginia released its list of the 100 largest employers in the state Tuesday compiled from March 2013 data.
The other top four employers, West Virginia United Health System, Charleston Area Medical Center, Inc., Kroger, and Consolidation Coal Company.
Ranked No. 6 through 10 are: Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Lowe's Home Centers, St. Mary's Medical Center, The Mentor Network, and ResCare.
Calhoun's Top Employers: 1. Minnie Hamilton Healthcare Center, Inc.;
2. Calhoun County Board of Education;
3. B Miller Excavating Inc.;
4. Calhoun County Committee on Aging, Inc.;
5. Ronald Lane, Inc.;
6. Calhoun County Bank, Inc.;
7. Facemire Foods, Inc.;
8. Dominion Transmission Corporation
Thirty-two of 55 counties on the list, the county board of education office is the top employers.
