Carol's chariot broke down so the Creston auction was cancelled.

A number of local residents attended the regional Farm Bureau feed and meet the candidate meeting Saturday evening at Camp Barbe. The featured speaker was Shelly Moore Capito, the local Member of Congress who is running for U. S. Senate . She noted she would vote to defund Obamacare, the boondoggle that is making most new jobs part time and causing health care costs to soar. There was one candidate for congress there who said he thought if there were "free health care" all would be fine and the cost of goods would be lower. He was unable to explain how such could be. Congresswoman Capito also noted that she would not vote to support the Big Eared One's proposed war in Syria. It seems that he, Madame Hillary and John Kerry (who met with the Viet Cong while still in uniform) are backing the side that is killing the Christians. Recently the Al Qaeda backed "freedom fighters" overran a Christian village that still speaks Aramaic, the language of New Testament times. Along all these lines, Biblical scholars have been studying Isaiah 17 & other appropriate readings. Some have said that a mistake could set off World War III which would be bad since those in power loathe the military and have been gutting it. Of course, China, Russia, Iran and others have been building up their military might.

It seems that a number of the "wise ones" down in the swamps of the lower Potomac were getting advice from an "expert" and then it was learned that she is on the payroll of the Muslim Brotherhood, the same outfit that Hillary's gal pal Huma [a/k/a Mrs. Anthony Wiener] works for. During a hearing on the Syria issue Senator McVain got bored and was caught playing video poker on his cell phone. Those who have ego problems fail to realize when their time is long past.

The Grim(m) reunion is scheduled for September 14 at the Creston Community Building. It was noted others are invited to come, visit, eat, etc.

Charles Russell was attending to business in Brooksville & Spencer. While in Spencer he called on Parris Parsons, Ray Gumm and brother Euell.

Energy Corporation of America announced that they will have another shut in of all gas wells going into their system.

Freddie Bush and associates were making hay in the Creston area. Many have taken advantage of the let up in rainy weather. Peanut Bunch also put up several rolls of fine second cutting hay on the historic dePue farm.

Gay Park noted that there is only one hummingbird left at her residence. All the remainder have headed south where they fly across the Gulf of Mexico to Central America.

Ann Newell, in spite of her medical problems, was able to attend the Ground Hog homecoming. Many were glad to see and talk with her. She is very knowledgeable on genealogical issues with many Creston area families.

Rev. Keith Belt filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church and served Holy Communion.

It was learned that "Budgie" Ferrell has some serious health problems.

For those who are on "the belly buster circuit" the BD (Butch Deer) Oil Gathering pig feed will be September 27.

The big Creston ATV Poker Run will be Saturday September 28.

Antero announced that they were able to raise their credit limit to $2 billion and that their wells in Tyler & Doddridge Counties averaged 1850 bbl/day of NGLs (natural gas liquids) and that the gas averaged 45% liquids although presently the ethane is not being separated [lack of market & price] but is going into the gas stream with the methane. Their Utica wells in Ohio are averaging 2,111 bbl/day of liquids and the gas is 57% liquids. The distance between the laterals vary from 500 to 1000 feet. The company said the average cost of the Marcellus wells was $8 million while the Utica wells cost $11 million each [on average].

For those who like to read legal cases the suit Barber vs. Magnum Land Services in Preston County has raised issues, especially fraud as the landmen told the landowners that if they didn't sign the gas would be taken anyway, which with the nature of the Utica & Marcellus isn't very likely as in a recent case against Chesapeake the judge ruled that there was an action for fracking with out permission [a lease]. Lawyers representing the big boys are advising how not to get in such a mess.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude rose to $109.23/bbl. with Appalachian light sweet (drip) fetching $88.03, Marcellus & Utica light $105.19 and medium $110.73/bbl.
