| Delores Jean Carte, 73, of the Evergreen Hills community, Cottageville, WV, passed away September 4, 2013, at her home.
She was born May 4, 1940, in Grantsville, WV, a daughter of the late Lane K. and Gladys G. (Putnam) Roberts. Her brother, Gary Roberts also preceded her in death.
She was a seamstress, and was co-owner and operator of J&J Fabric Shop in Cottageville and Millwood for 29 years. She was a 22 year member of the VFW Post #5501 Ladies Auxiliary, Ripley, an Honorary Citizen of Mooseheart, and a Woman of the Moose. She enjoyed crafts, playing bingo, and was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Hershel "Joe" Carte; sons, Rick (Marie) Ash and Tom (Felicia) Wilson all of Spencer WV, and Timothy (Sandy) Wilson of LeRoy WV; daughters, Ranell Ash Windland of Spencer, and Marlyn "Marty" Carte of Cottageville; step-daughters, Regina Carte (Richard) Newbrough of Albany OH, Beverly Carte (Butch) Price of Wharton WV, and Brenda "Binky" Carte (Joel) Fraier of Cutler OH; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brother, Delmas (Judy) Roberts of Winfield WV; sister, June McDowell of Bolivia NC, and a sister-in-law, Sue Roberts of Millstone.
The family would like to express their appreciation to, Monica, Sherry and Kathy, for the wonderful care given to Jean.
