Kathleen Skinner, age 86, of St. Stephens Church, Virginia, departed this life at 10:20 a.m., August 25, 2013 in the Genesis Health Care Center, Glenville, West Virginia, following an extended illness.
Born April 5, 1927 in Gilmer County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Saul and Francis Turner Taylor.
Kathleen was a Methodist by faith, she loved yard selling, tending to her flowers, and had the best green thumb around. Kathleen also collected salt and pepper shakers, have collected over 500 sets. She was also a retired manager of an Ashland Oil Gas Station in Braxton County.
Surviving is 1 daughter, Linda Rexroad of Walkerton, Virginia, and 1 son, Robert Skinner of Mannington, West Virginia, 1 brother, Dennis Taylor and wife Audrey of Hiram, Ohio, 3 granddaughter, Christina McCumbers and husband Charles of Frametown, West Virginia, Leslie Conrad of Glenville, WV, and Barbara Myers and husband Bo of Gassaway, West Virginia.
She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, Robert Myers , Cristopher, Kevin, and Nickolas Carson, Miranda, Jamie, Kaleb, and Elysa Conrad, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, Mikah Kathleen Fisher (her namesake), and Austin, Bentley, and Mackenzie Carson.
Along with her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters, Merle Taylor, Cluster "Bo" Taylor, Clifton "Tip" Taylor, Kenneth "Potty" Taylor, Ethel Taylor, and Madeline Cogar.
Kathleen's wishes were to be cremated and no funeral services to be held. Anyone who wishes to donate in her name, please make your donations to Genesis Health Care Center, Glenville Branch, 111 Fairground Road, Glenville, WV, 26351.
