On August 24, 2013, on his beloved farm, James D. (Jim) Barr, of Grantsville WV, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a hard struggle of several years fighting COPD, and also to be reunited with his precious daughter Lurland Marie Barr Daughtery, mother and father Alfred (Sharps) and Carolina (Kelley) Barr and brother Robert Max Barr, of whom predeceased him in death.
Jim was born July 16, 1935. He was a member of the E.U.B. Church of Cherry Fork,
White Pine.
Mr. Barr gifted his body to the Human Gift Registry in Morgantown WV for the study
Of medicine, he felt if one person could be saved by the research of his body that he
would be blessed.
He is survived by his ever loving wife Marilyn Callihan Barr, of 42 years.
Jim was employed for many years in the oil field industry, as a rough neck, driller,
drilling superintendent and tool pusher in many states, before becoming disabled.
He was the loving father of daughters Lurland Marie (Bill) Daughtery, and Sheri (David) Barnhill; sons James D. II, Stephen P. Barr, Jay (Kelli) and Aaron (Jennifer) Barr; brother of David, William (Bill), Robert (Max) and Linda (Leonard) Metz; loving grandfather of Raymond Chuck (Colleen) Bancroft, Heather (Gary) Fenton, Chasidy (Jody) Rush, Tonya (Philip) Graham, Tony and Melissa Barnhill, Kelley and Crosby Barr, Nolan Segbers, and Valarie Barr; great grandfather of Zarek, Chelsea and Caleb Fenton, Catherine, Jacob and Abby Bancroft, Matthew Rush, and Philip Graham II.
He also leaves his Aunt Jean (Otis) Miller, and Uncle Donald (Willa Lee) Kelley along with several nieces and nephews. Jim leaves two special young men and a daughter-in-law that he treated as his own children, Clayton (Brandi) Bonawitz and Keith Collins and Jennis Darelene McCulley; and his loving careworker Amanda Wayne, along with his beloved pet dog Sadie the Boxer.

A memorial service will be conducted at the convenience of the family at a later date.
