| Avis Bernadine Starcher, 82, of Zanesville passed away August 4, 2013 at her residence surrounded by family.
She was born August 11, 1930 in Spencer, West Virginia, daughter of the late J.T. and Lula Summers Bates. She was a member of the South Zanesville Nazarene Church.
She is survived by her husband Robert Starcher; sons Russell Parfitt of Ravenna, Paul (Shirley) Starcher of Zanesville; sister Tine Merril of Milford; grandchildren Tina (Doug) McGaha of Ravenna, Dustin Parfitt of Ravenna; great-grandchildren Zackary (Amber) Davis of South Carolina and Chad McGaha of Ravenna; great-great-grandchildren Zackary Davis Jr. of South Carolina.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Gene, Harry, Brooks, Ted, John and Bob; sister Blanche.
Calling hours will be held from 11 am to 1 pm Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, 56 S. 5th St. Zanesville, Ohio and from 11 am to 1 pm Thursday, August 8, 2013 at TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME in Spencer where services will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Prudence Chapel Cemetery in Chloe, WV.
