An 11-month-old girl was thrown from a car crash on I-79 about 5 p.m. Friday, severely injuring the child.
The accident happened north of Big Otter.
The child was air-lifted to CAMC General, listed in critical condition.
Police did not say if the child was restrained in a car seat, but are are interviewing the child's mother considering if charges should be filed.
Police believe the infant's mother, who was driving the car, was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
