| Eloise Carpenter Nichols, 81, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer.
She was born November 22, 1931 in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Salathiel and Audra Ruth Starcher Carpenter. She was a homemaker and a member of the Spencer Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Eloise is survived by a daughter, Rose Mary Starcher of Spencer; three sons, Toney H. Nichols of Elizabeth, West Virginia and Danny Lee and Jeffrey Allen Nichols, both of Spencer; three sisters, Linda Kincaid of Spencer and Barbara Nichols and Bessie Merrill, both of Ohio; a brother, Chuck Carpenter of Calhoun County; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Homer Nichols; a daughter, Margaret Suttle; a sister, Daisy Yoak; and a brother Kenneth Carpenter.
Per Eloise's wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Spencer Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Daniel Marconi officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the Starcher Cemetery in Calhoun County.
