Rev. Keith Belt filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. church. He & his mother Jenny were calling on M r. & Mrs. Ottie Brumfield. Pauling has been on the sick list & is scheduled to see a specialist at Morgantown.

Buster & Sally got turned loose so the grass could be mowed in their pen and up the Richardsonville road they went. A four wheeler ride quickly located a winded Buster but Sally was another matter. Eventually she was found but it seems that mama deer had put her to flight and instead of Sally chasing Bambi, the dog was running for her life.

The fiber optic cable trucks have been seen in Creston but no one knows when or if high speed internet is to be available. Thanks to the "stimulus" bill mucho moola was spent advising how to install high speed. In West Virginia it is said installation costs $47,000/mile or more than twice the "usual" $20,000/mile fee. As has been said, "We have the best politicians money can buy."

The PC police kicked a food network cook off tee vee because of something she said 40 years ago in her own home. Now the "global warming" con artists have decided that will be the way to silence the opposition to their nefarious plans to "fundamentally change America". It is reported that there are now places where one cannot heat & cook with wood because "it pollutes".

A number of local residents attended the West Virginia State Folk Festival in Glenville. There was lots of first class music but small crowds. It was learned that some now in charge want to eliminate the old traditional music [the reason the festival was started 64 years ago] and make it a country & western affair like Nashville, Branson, etc. Folks who are concerned should contact the Folk Festival board and let them know.

Those who have been dealing with insurance have learned that, thanks to Obamacare, insurance premiums will jump 30% next year and that those retirees who are on state and city plans such as PEIA/Humana may be dumped into an unspecified federal plan. Such is already in the works for Detroit & Chicago retirees. Some may remember, "If you like your plan, you can keep it." Also, it was learned that under "The affordable care act" the IRS can now share your medical records with whomever. Some doctors area "dropping out" and plan to operate cash businesses so, if one has the means, there will be some medical care available.

Kenneth Belt who was never known for being a cream puff decided that he would "head but" his chariot when his feet got mixed up but something about being 88 caused him to have several stitches/staples installed. He is supposed to consult his blood pressure physician.

To comply with federal guidelines it is understood that some ethane is presently being flared. The Williams Company & Boardwalk Pipeline are getting ready to move the ethane [and other gas liquids] to the Gulf Coast to make ethylene, etc. instead of having a cracker in West Virginia as Earl Ray had boasted during his campaign. The capacity is said to be between 200,000 to 400,000 bbl/day at a cost of 14.5cents/gallon.

Travelers in the Stumptown section note that there are now large water impoundments and signs to the new well pad somewhere near Chestnut Lick.
