| David Weekley, 44, of Wirt County died Sunday morning when he crashed his vehicle on Route 47 in Wood County.
Weekley is the son of Calhouners Lowell and Janet Thompson Weekley, who retired to Nicut before their death. Lowell Weekley was long associated with the Wirt County school system
An eyewitness to the crash said Weekley's vehicle suddenly ran off the road and when down a ditch-line several hundred feet, hitting the road bank.
The Wood County Sheriff's office the car was completely destroyed.
The WV State Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine Weekley's cause of death.
