| Mabel Irene Ellyson-Paull age 97 of Fairfax, Virginia, departed this life June 17, 2013 at the Fairfax Nursing Center, Fairfax, VA, following an extended illness.
Born October 8, 1915 in Cox's Mill, West Virginia, daughter of the late Ernest F. and Bessie D. Spiers Ellyson.
Mabel was an avid quilter, she graduated from Glenville State Teachers College in 1939 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in education and was an Elementary School teacher in Akron, Ohio. She also served in the navy during World War II.
1n 1957 she was united in marriage to Raymond Payne, who preceded her in death in 1970.
Surviving are her nephew, L. Carlin Ellyson of Titusville FL; and her nieces, Dr Kara L Riley-Paull of Walnut Creek CA and Tara L Riley of Sterling VA; and 1 sister, Edna Ruth Ellyson Riley of Walnut Creek CA.
Along with her parents and husband, Mabel was preceded in death by 1 sister, Goldie Marie Ellyson Maher; 2 brothers, J. Carlin Ellyson and Kenneth Ellyson.
Graveside services will be conducted at the Troy IOOF Cemetery, Troy WV at 4:00 p.m. Saturday June 22, 2013 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating.
