UPDATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON - A second round of rainfall hit flood-ravaged Roane County Tuesday morning, water rapidly rising and quickly receding.

The Arnoldsburg Road area (US 33-119) between Spencer and the Calhoun County line received heavy rainfall, causing flooding with water crossing the highway.

Water on the short creek known as Laurel damaged a number of houses and washed away some outbuildings in last week flood.

In several areas Tuesday the water was even higher, in what would generally be called a flash flood.

High water closed a number of roads in the county.

While Spring Creek waters flooded parts of Spencer Tuesday, the water receded by early afternoon.

In the eastern part of Spencer on Arnoldsburg Road, water caused flooding and a culvert was washed out.

An historic flood struck the county last week, damaging about 150 structures, with a number of residents rescued and relocated.

ORIGINAL STORY - Spencer is flooding again Tuesday morning after the NWS issued a warning for the county.

Water was flooding the locations that usually floods in Spencer, but so far the problem has not reached the level of last weeks disaster.

Water covered US 33-119 on Arnoldsburg Road near the Home Show and the former Spencer Auto Group, from water pouring into the town from the Bowers Hill and Steele Hollow area.

Reports said a drain washed away, and pieces of the road were missing.

The Department of Transportation reported that U.S. 33/119 at Boggs Fork Road had to be closed.

U.S. 119 was closed at Roane County High School where 2 to 3 feet of water was over the highway.

Shoppers were once again "trapped" at Wal-Mart.

The traditionally flooded area of Alvord is flooded.

Locations in the warning area included Gandeeville and Reedy.

The area was hit with an historic flood last week.
