MAN SHOT IN DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON - Terrance Bonner, 18, was shot about 2 p.m. Monday while sitting in a vehicle near Charleston's busy Town Center.
Police say five males quickly fled the scene after shooting at least five bullets into the car.
"Just the nature of this crime, the time of day, and the location shows a real disregard for the safety of law abiding citizens, " said Chief of Detectives Lt. Steve Cooper.
Bonner was driven to the hospital by a woman in his car, shot in the arm, a non-critical injury.
Police did not comment on the motive, but did say it was not a random shooting.
MAN STABS GIRLFRIEND - A Monongalia County man is in jail after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend with a screwdriver. Police say the woman was trying to defend herself.
Terry Lynn Ford Sr. was arrested after his girlfriend called 911, saying her boyfriend was trying to kill her.
Police said the man allegedly pulled her hair and tried to stab her by holding the screwdriver against her neck, just behind her left ear.
The man supposedly stole her SUV and cell phone, then left the home after kicking in the front door.
HOME INVASION SUSPECT ARRESTED - The suspect in Rand home invasion has been arrested in Tennessee,
Tevin Christopher "Smook" Williams, 19, of Rand, turned himself in to Nashville police.
Williams was wanted on an armed robbery warrant.
The victim told deputies that a man knocked on his door, asked to use the phone and then pushed his way inside. Once inside he fired a gun into the wall, demanded cash and drugs, and then fled. |
