| Alta Merle Starkey, 77, of Pine Creek, Grantsville WV, passed away suddenly on June 2, 2013.
She was born in Calhoun County on February 26, 1936 to the late Floyd Taylor George and Bessie Kirby George. She was a homemaker and attended the New Testament Church. She was devoted to God, her family and friends.
She is survived by four sons, John (April) Starkey of Lakeland Florida, William (Sabrina) George of Parkersburg WV, Patrick (Dawn) Starkey of Grantsville and James Starkey of Grantsville; five daughters, Karen George and Tammy (Stan) Little both of Arnoldsburg WV, Pamela Cutlip of Parkersburg, Rebecca (John) Snider of Grantsville and Lisa (Arnold) Banfield of Elizabeth WV; several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as one sister, Artie Perkins of Fayetteville WV.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents Floyd and Bessie George, by her husband, Raymond Starkey; an infant daughter, Brenda Starkey; two brothers, Harold and Harlow George; and one sister, Ava Stutler.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
