| Betty Jean Jackson Funk, 75, of Castlewood VA, formerly of Spencer WV, went to meet her Lord on Saturday May 18, 2013 after an extended illness.
She was born July 7, 1937 in Kanawha County, a daughter of the late Darrell Franklin and Lucy Mae Young Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Howard Brinton Funk; an infant brother, Billy Ray Jackson and a brother, Gary Alan Jackson.
Mrs. Funk attended the Gate City UPC, Gate City VA with her daughter and family. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, who enjoyed quilting, reading and helping others.
Survivors include her son Edward Brinton Funk of Spencer; a daughter, Karen Jean Funk Bradley of Castlewood VA; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Clifford Jackson and Robert Jackson.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Danny Grizzle of Gate City UPC, officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson Cemetery, Looneyville. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
