POLICE SEIZE GUNS FROM FELON - West Virginia State Police have recovered up to 150 guns, drugs and cash after executing a search warrant in Belle.

They arrest Dorsey Woolwine Jr., who had prior convictions, including malicious wounding.

"This was a high risk search warrant due to the number of firearms in the dwelling," according to Sgt. Larry O'Brian. "They were everywhere, beside his bed, under the house, on top in the attic, throughout the house..."

Police say meth was being shipped to the house from out of state.

When police arrived at the trailer they found TV cameras facing the road.

Woolwine is a convicted felon, not allowed to have a gun.

MAN ATTACKS DEPUTY WITH SWORD - A Rand man was arrested after allegedly pulling a samurai sword on a Kanawha County sheriff's deputy.

Capt. J.S. Bailes was patrolling Rand Tuesday when he saw a man walking along the road, later identified as Chaten Samuel Nelson, 35.

Nelson allegedly drew a four-foot samurai sword and started walking toward the deputy, police said.

The report says the deputy pulled his pistol and ordered Nelson several times to drop the sword, eventually he put the sword down.

Police said Nelson appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

They also found another knife, a straight razor and prescription pills on his person, according to police.

Nelson was charged with brandishing a deadly weapon, and possession.

STAR CITY ARMED ROBBERY - Star City police responded to the scene of a reported armed robbery at the Saratoga Hot Spot.

Police said the robber handed the clerk a note stating that he had a gun and demanded money. the robber got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
