PARKERSBURG STABBINGS - Parkersburg police detectives are actively investigating a double stabbing that occurred around 3:42 a.m. Thursday morning. Following a call to 911 about a stabbing, officers arrived on scene finding David Whitlock, 51, and Mary Alvarado, 51, on the street.

Whitlock appeared to have at least one stab wound and appeared to be in serious condition. Alvarado appeared to have multiple stab wounds and also appeared to be in serious condition.

The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

Detectives have issued two felony malicious wounding warrants for Ira Blair Hyde. A criminal complaint alleges that Hyde began yelling at his neighbors from a window.

Whitlock came out into the street telling Hyde to stop yelling, and if he had a problem to come outside.

Hyde exited his residence and approached Whitlock, swinging with a knife. Whitlock was unarmed. Hyde stabbed Whitlock one time in the chest. Hyde then used the knife to stab the female multiple times. Alvarado was stabbed under her left arm and in her right breast and is reportedly in serious condition.

Detectives have not located Hyde, but continue to search for him.
