Glenville WV - Members of the Glenville State College Concert Band will be performing their spring concert on Friday, April 26th at 7:00 p.m. in the GSC Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
"We are playing a well-rounded program that will feature many wonderful works," said Lloyd Bone, GSC Fine Arts Department Chair, Concert Band Director, and Assistant Professor of Music. The band members will be performing 'Amparito Roca,' 'Emperata Overture,' 'The Walking Frog,' 'Gettysburg,' 'Caribbean Fantasy,' and a world premiere composition by GSC Jazz Band Director and Assistant Professor of Music Education Dr. David Lewis.
One of the works will feature one of GSC's Faculty Emeriti, Harry Rich, who was a music professor at GSC for twenty years before retiring in 2004. He recently returned to the campus to teach trumpet at GSC as an adjunct professor. Rich will be on stage with the band during the concert playing a trumpet solo. He will perform "Charlier Etude No. Two" arranged by 2012 GSC music education graduate Jared Young of Summersville (Nicholas County), West Virginia.
