He was born Dec. 3, 1937, at Stumptown in Gilmer County, a son of the late Ardith Vannoy and Mary Parsons Vannoy Hart.

Mr. Vannoy was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and was retired from The General Glass Company. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and former member of Narrowgate Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving is his wife, Linda Lemley Vannoy; two sons, Foster (Kathy) Vannoy Jr. of Parkersburg and Kevin (Diana) Vannoy of Davisville; two daughters, Tamara (Nathan) Brand of Parkersburg and Susan (Thomas) Semon of Waverly; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three half sisters, Sandy, Debbie and Jenny. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Vannoy.

There will be no formal ceremony; however, there will be visitation 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg.
