Gene Smith, 73, of Zona, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.
He was born October 19, 1939 in Elkview, West Virginia, a son of the late Bert and Dessie Mae Larch Smith. He was a former supervisor for Pool Well Service in Snyder, Texas.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Kay Smith of Denton, Texas; two sisters, Jeanette Hardway and Mary Hardway, both of Zona; and five brothers, Roger Smith of Grasslake, Michigan, Ron Smith of Homosassa, Florida, Don Smith of Wellington, Kentucky, Tom Smith of Elkview, and Dan Smith of Zona.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Kay Smith.
Service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, West Virginia, with Rev. Andy Osborne officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery near Zona. Visiting is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
