Wilma Gwendolyn Bailey Johnston, 87, of Parkersburg, passed away on April 7, 2013, at her daughter's residence.
She was born April 19, 1925, in Calhoun County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Paris and Lelia Gay Starcher Bailey.
Wilma was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, the outdoors, watching wildlife and especially loved her family. She was a Methodist by faith and attended Merrill's Chapel Church.
She is survived by five daughters, Elizabeth (Rich) Collins of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Sue (Paul) West of Columbus, Ohio, Jeanette (Bill) Pursley of Newark, W.Va., Lelia (Steve) Coe of Elizabeth, W.Va., and Betty (Randy) Myers of Parkersburg; two sons, Stan (Charlene) Johnston and Steve Johnston, both of Elizabeth; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Betty Bailey; and son-in-law, Wayne Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Johnston; two daughters, Debbie Rockhold and Terry Wilson; a great-grandson, Dillon Wilson; and her five siblings.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Rev. Dr. Paul Russell officiating.
Interment will follow at Merrill's Chapel Cemetery in Wirt County. Visitation will be from 4 -8 p.m. today, April 9 and 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10 at the funeral home. |
