Genevieve C. Hunt, 83, of Glen Jean died August 10, 2002, at her
residence.
Born January 11, 1919 at Hillsboro, she was the daughter of the late Thrasher
and Fannie Williamson Adkison.
She was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years. She was a member of
Glen Jean Union Church for many years and was active in many community and
church activities. She was a 1937 graduate of Hillsboro High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Hunt Sr. on August 4, 2000,
three brothers, Woodrow, Dewey and William Atkison, and a sister, Jeannette
Stanfill.
She is survived by her children, Helen Hunt Mills of Springfield, Tennessee, Alice E.
Hunt of Glen Jean, Robert E. Hunt Jr. and wife Caren of Glen Jean, Sheila A.
Hunt of Wichita, Kansas, David A. Hunt of Maple Fork, and Jeffrey B. Hunt and his
wife, Hope, of Maysel; sister, Anna L. Baxter of Denmar; four grandchildren,
Jason H. Mills, Megan Mills, Nicholas L. Hunt and Adam W. Hunt; several
nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, at Glen Jean Union Church, Glen
Jean, with the Rev. R. John Catlett Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemane
Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley.
Troopers of the West Virginia State Police will serve as pallbearers. Donations of
