The warm sun fueled a large brush fire in the Island Run area of Roane County, not far from the Calhoun line, after a dwelling burned to the ground
The Arnoldsburg VFD responded to a mutual assistance call to Roane County Saturday at 3:30 p.m. where a residence burned down with the fire spreading into the woods.
The house on Island Run was a total loss as firemen from the Spencer-Roane, Clover and Arnoldsburg VFDs arrived.
Arnoldsburg Fire Chief Derek Wright said the fire spread to about 12 acres of wood area.
Arnoldsburg firemen were on scene for about five hours, helping bring the fire under control. |
